What was so bad about the British empire?

It was only called the British Empire to spread the blame. It wasn't run from Edinburgh or Dublin or Cardiff. It was run from London, for London just as were Scotland, Ireland and Wales - the first colonies. It was English aristocratic landlords that allowed the Irish to starve while exporting food from Ireland. It was the aristocratic English that recruited Highlanders into the army and then exploited their absence overseas to evict their families into starvation. Even the USA-England argument that lead to Independance was dominated by English aristocratic interests and the greed of the monarch. Criticise the English Empire all you want.
